Tanya Tassi works as the National Community Center Policy Manager for CenterLink: The Community of LGBT Centers. Embedded in the Policy Department of the Los Angeles LGBT Center, she specializes in mobilization, advocacy, and education within the LGBTQ community. As the manager of Center Action Network, Tanya enables LGBTQ community centers and their constituents to act as effective and powerful champions; protecting social services, health care, programming, and funding within the LGBTQ community. She is the founder and director of the Senior Mobilization Squad; a group consisting of older adult advocates living in Los Angeles County who are dedicated to protecting and expanding the rights of the LGBTQ community.
Tanya serves as Commissioner for the Los Angeles County Commission on Aging. She is a volunteer educator for the National Resource Center on LGBT Aging, and is part of the Long Beach Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
Tanya received her Gerontology certification from the University of Southern California's Leonard Davis School of Gerontology, finishing at the top of her class. She is the recipient of the 2017 Los Angeles County LINK Award for her outstanding service to the older adult community. In 2019, Tanya received the Broadwick Scholarship, awarded to females who have re-entered post-secondary education and excel academically. Tanya is also a professional vocalist. She has toured with musical greats such as Ray Charles, Barbara Mandrell, Kenny Rogers, and the Branson Superstars. She often performs the National Anthem and has sung for the Los Angeles Lakers, Green Bay Packers, L.A. Dodgers, and Chicago Bulls among others. She performs with several community theater groups and lends her voice to many non profit, veterans, and fundraising events within the Los Angeles area.
